James Joyce the famous Irish writer was a native of Dublin, something he never let us forget in his varied works. However, Nora Barnacle Joyce, his beloved partner, was from Galway city. Galway was Joyce’s second favourite Irish city, and appears either directly or in reference to, in all his works.
Jim Ward, who is a Joycean, invited to speak internationally on James Joyce, offers this special Literary Galway James Joyce Tour:
Explore the relationship of Oliver St John Gogarty (Buck Mulligan) and Galway, Nora Barnacle and her Galway life, Joyce’s visits to Galway (he visited twice), and Galway events and places mentioned in Joycean literature – and why.
